1. Who We Are

PinkBoon ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered educational platform for students in Class 8–12, operated from India. Our platform is accessible at examclever.com and related subdomains. For any privacy concerns, contact us at hello@examclever.com.

2. What We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

Account info: Nickname, email address, class (8–12), board (CBSE/ICSE/IB/State), and avatar. No full name required.

Chat messages: Your questions and Boon's responses — stored to provide the service and improve answer quality.

Usage Pages visited, features used — to improve the product. No fingerprinting.

Payment info: Processed securely by Razorpay. We never store card numbers or UPI details.

We do not collect your real name, phone number, home address, or any sensitive personal information unless you voluntarily provide it in a message.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide, maintain and improve PinkBoon's features

To personalize your learning experience (subject, language, board)

To generate teacher dashboard analytics (only for students linked to a teacher)

To send important account-related emails (no marketing without consent)

To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or policy violations

4. AI and Your Questions

Your questions are sent to AI providers (Anthropic Claude, Groq) to generate answers. These providers process your messages but do not store them for training purposes under our agreements. Your questions are not used to train AI models without your consent. We do not send your personal identifiers (name, email) to AI providers — only the message content.

5. Teacher-Student Data

If you join a teacher's class via invite link, your teacher can see: your nickname, question activity (counts by subject), weak chapter areas, and question papers generated. Your teacher cannot see the content of your individual messages. You can leave a teacher's class at any time by contacting us. Teachers cannot see each other's students' data.

6. Children's Privacy (Under 13)

PinkBoon is designed for students Class 8–12 (typically age 13+). If a user is under 13, we require verifiable parental consent before account creation. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information without parental consent, we will delete that information immediately. Parents can contact us at hello@examclever.com.

We do not sell your data. Ever. We share data only with:

AI providers (Anthropic, Groq) — to generate responses, message content only

Payment processors (Razorpay) — to process transactions

Infrastructure (Vercel, Render, MongoDB Atlas) — to host the platform securely

Law enforcement — only when legally required with valid court order

8. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plaintext). Our servers are hosted in secure cloud environments. We use JWT tokens for authentication with appropriate expiry. We regularly review our security practices.

9. Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you

Correction: Update incorrect information in your profile settings

Deletion: Request complete account deletion — we'll process within 7 days

Portability: Request your chat history in a readable format

10. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and localStorage for authentication and theme preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts. No cookie consent banner is needed for essential cookies, but we will notify you if this changes.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this policy at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
